DC Health Link joins the Washington, DC Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity in their Martin Luther King Day of Service program to take the opportunity to reach out to African American men about health insurance. DC Health Link will be exhibiting at a day-long discussion of issues facing African Americans, including The Discretionary Power of Prosecutors, Surviving the Police Stop and The Juvenile Justice System.  Speakers include the Honorable Angela D. Alsobrooks, State’s Attorney Prince George County, Professor Angela J. Davis, American University Law School, Attorney J. Wyndal Gordon, “The Warrior Lawyer,” Professor Kristin N. Henning, Georgetown University Law School, The Honorable Ronald C. Machen, U.S. Attorney District of Columbia and the Honorable Karl Racine, Attorney General District of Columbia. DC Health Link staff will make a personal appeal to African American men in the audience encouraging them to enroll early before the February 15th deadline.  Trained In-Person Assisters and health insurance brokers will be onsite to support enrollment, assist with plan selection, answer questions, and provide information about Medicaid options and financial help with plan premiums. Free DC Health Link giveaways will be available. Visitors to the exhibit can also make appointments for enrollment.  There will be free parking at the garage across the street from the church.
