Kate Sullivan Hare

Kate Sullivan Hare, Principal, Health Policy Insight and Strategy, is a nationally recognized health care policy expert and strategist. Her career includes working for both the world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and the nation’s largest business lobby, the US Chamber of Commerce. She has more than 25 years’ experience in health care policy, strategy and advocacy, with a specialty in advising employers and their partner entities who seek to ensure an affordable and high quality health system that covers all Americans. She has held senior level appointments at the federal and state levels of government, bringing both political and policy insight to those she advises as well as extensive contacts and credibility with organizations across the ideological spectrum. Most recently, Ms. Sullivan Hare was Director of Policy and Public Affairs for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, based in Princeton, NJ, and for which she established the organization’s Washington presence.

Ms. Sullivan Hare earned her Masters of Health Services Administration from the George Washington University, where she concentrated her studies on finance and strategic planning. She received her undergraduate degree in American Government and English from Georgetown. She and her husband Neil, a small business owner, live in Washington, DC, with their three young children.
