In Your Face Huge LED Ad Sign At Verizon Center Reminds Residents of 2016 Health Insurance Deadline

LED Display at Version Center to Attract Attention and Remind District Residents

WHAT/WHO:              

With less than two weeks left to the January 31st deadline to sign up for 2016 coverage, DC Health Link is amplifying its message to District residents that time is running out to enroll in quality affordable health insurance. In fact, getting the word out to District residents has taken on a whole new dimension with LED display ads at the Verizon Center. 

    Prominently shown from one of the busiest intersections in the District with enormous foot traffic and the highly traveled Gallery Place Metro station, DC Health Link is telling residents to sign up before the deadline. The message: “TIME IS RUNNING OUT - Don’t Delay, Enroll Today in Quality Affordable Health Insurance before the January 31st deadline. Go to DCHealthLink.com or call 1(855) 532-5465.” The LED display ads are currently running at the Verizon Center and will run through January 31st. (Pictures are attached)

    Additionally, DC Health Link staff will meet fans on the concourse at the Wizards game against the Denver Nuggets on January 28th at 7:00pm. DC Health Link staff will be distributing information about DC Health Link, as well as promotional items.

BACKGROUND:          

The Affordable Care Act provides individuals, families, and small businesses in the District of Columbia with affordable options for quality health insurance.  DC Health Link is the District’s online health insurance marketplace which allows visitors to shop, compare, and enroll in coverage that fits their needs and budgets. 

Open Enrollment began November 1, 2015 and ends January 31, 2016. Eligible District residents can enroll in a health insurance plan through DCHealthLink.com. Plan selections made by the 15th of each month during Open Enrollment will be effective on the first day of the following month. Small businesses—as well as individuals and families eligible for Medicaid—can enroll through DCHealthLink.com at any point.
