DC Health Link will be targeting neighborhoods with higher uninsured populations for direct door-to-door outreach through its “Knock, Knock” Door-to-Door Canvassing Campaign. ” The campaign, which is part of the hyperlocal approach to reach the remaining uninsured, is designed to reach the residents in Wards 7, and 8 where they live, work, shop, play and pray. The campaign will be joined by community leaders, DC Councilmembers and local and federal officials who will canvass neighborhoods to educate residents about the ACA and DC Health Link. Residents will be reminded of the upcoming deadline, and asked to the support the “Each One, Link One Campaign,” an effort to enlist residents to help DC Health Link to reach uninsured neighbors, friends, and family and connect them to DC Health Link for enrollment. Specially designed door knockers will be placed on the door knobs of residences. Information will be distributed about quality health insurance options through DC Health Link as well as enrollment locations where residents can get free expert enrollment support. They will also be given information about financial assistance with monthly premiums.
