Gabriela Mossi brings extensive experience in economic development and neighborhood revitalization, spanning local and international initiatives across nonprofit, governmental, and academic sectors. Her career has been defined by a deep commitment to cooperative community projects, immigrant outreach, and support for minority-owned small businesses.

Before focusing on neighborhood revitalization in the District of Columbia, Gabriela contributed to international development programs at the Kellogg Institute at the University of Notre Dame, the University of Maryland, The World Bank, and UnidosUS. Her local impact began with Adams Morgan Main Streets—one of DC’s inaugural Main Street programs—and continued through her leadership at the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Washington English Center, a workforce development institution.

Gabriela’s dedication to community service includes serving as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Ward One and holding board positions with various organizations focused on poverty alleviation, entrepreneurship, housing, and voter participation, such as the United Planning Organization and the Latino Economic Development Center.

A proud Georgetown alumna, Gabriela holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) from Georgetown University and completed graduate studies in international development and cooperation at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Currently, she leads the Uptown Community Initiative, a DC-based nonprofit dedicated to commercial revitalization efforts in Ward Four.
