Leighton Ku, Ph.D., M.P.H., is a professor and director of the Center for Health Policy Research in the Department of Health Policy in the School of Public Health and Health Services at the George Washington University. For more than 20 years, he has conducted research and analysis regarding health care for disadvantaged populations, including studies of health care reform at national and state levels, Medicaid, safety-net health care, and immigrants. Prior to coming to George Washington, Dr. Ku was a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and a principal researcher at the Urban Institute. He has a Ph.D. in health policy from Boston University and an M.P.H. from the University of California, Berkeley.
