At the Health Fair sponsored by George Washington University, DC Health Link will provide a Special Enrollment Period opportunity for individuals who qualify and enroll those who are eligible for Medicaid. A “special enrollment period” allows a qualified person and other family members in the household to select a new plan or enroll in a plan for the first time after open enrollment has ended. Please note: A special enrollment period begins March 15, 2015, and ends on April 30, 2015, for District residents who are subject to a federal tax penalty because they did not have health insurance and may be learning about the penalty for the first time when they file their 2014 federal tax returns. Information about the Affordable Care Act, and DC Health Link – the District’s online marketplace for health insurance for individuals and families, and small businesses will be provided. DC Health Link representatives will be available to assist with enrollment, and help to determine if you are eligible for financial help. For more information about DC Health Link and to get a copy of the enrollment checklist, please visit www.dchealthlink.com or call 1(855) 532-LINK (5465).
