The DC Health Link Open Enrollment Kick-off Day & Health Fair is designed as a citywide activity to promote the 2018 DC Health Link Open Enrollment Period, which begins November 1, 2017 and runs through January 31, 2018. The Fair will provide an opportunity for District residents, small business owners and their employees to learn about and enroll in quality, affordable health insurance through DC Health Link, the District's online health insurance marketplace. Trained in-person assisters as well as DC Health Link certified insurance brokers will be available to offer enrollment assistance, help residents navigate the web portal and answer questions about insurance benefits and the enrollment process. Residents will be urged to help reach the insured and get 100% of residents enrolled in quality affordable health insurance.

A brief ceremonial program will begin at noon with U.S. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Council Chairman Phil Mendelson, Councilmember Brandon Todd and others officials and community leaders who will officially open the DC Health Link Enrollment Day. Mayor Muriel Bowser will also be in attendance to urge residents to enroll in high quality health insurance and to help the District reach its goal of 100% of resident with health insurance.

The fall festival style event will feature onsite enrollment with free expert help, health screenings, children’s play, moon bounce, cooking demo, Zumba, Yoga, local entertainment, celebrity athletes, remote radio broadcast and more. After the event, DC Health Link Street Teams will participate in door-to-door canvassing in the nearby neighborhoods with the most likely uninsured.
