The Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative’s Ward 8 Drug-Free Coalition will host the Annual Safe Summer 2017 Kick-Off. The purpose of this event is to inform and engage residents with wholesome programs and services that will help keep our youth safe and reduce the crime and violence in Ward 8. It is an opportunity for children and young adults to become knowledgeable of services and resources that will stimulate and challenge them throughout the summer and beyond. The event will feature several vendors that currently operate services in the community, promoting healthy choices and lifestyles, fun activities, music, and giveaways. DC Health Link certified Assisters will be on site to provide in-person education and enrollment assistance to District consumers as well as answer questions, and provide information about Medicaid options and financial help with plan premiums.
