Details: DC HBX will kick off the annual open enrollment period for individuals and families to sign up for health insurance coverage through DC Health Link. The kickoff of the DC Health Link open enrollment period is part of DC Health Link’s #GetCoveredDC, #StayCoveredDC campaign to encourage all DC residents to enroll in high quality, affordable health insurance. Designed as a citywide activity to promote the 2024 DC Health Link Open Enrollment Period, which begins November 1, 2023, and runs through January 31, 2024.  The Fair will provide an opportunity for District residents, small business owners and their employees to learn about and enroll in quality, affordable health insurance through DC Health Link, the District's online health insurance marketplace. Trained in-person Assisters as well as DC Health Link certified insurance brokers will be available to offer enrollment assistance, help residents navigate the web portal and answer questions about insurance benefits and the enrollment process. Residents will be urged to help reach the uninsured and to get 100% of DC residents enrolled in high quality affordable health insurance. The festival style family event will feature free health screenings, vaccines and immunizations, free expert enrollment support, zumba and yoga exercises, children & family activities including games, and story book hour, healthy food demonstrations, local entertainment, refreshments, and much more! After the event, DC Health Link Assisters and volunteers will form Street Teams to fan out across the city to share information about the Affordable Care Act and the value and importance of health insurance. With insurance premiums as low as $11/month, DC Health Link Street Teams will also encourage residents to enroll in high quality affordable health insurance with FREE on the spot expert enrollment support. The door-to-door canvassing will take place in the nearby neighborhoods of the most likely uninsured.
