Mayor Muriel Bowser’s Sixth Annual National Maternal and Infant Health Summit

Last Date:

Location:
801 Mount Vernon Place NW
Building:
Walter W. Washington Convention Center
Details:

DC Health Link executive director, Mila Kofman, will participate as a presenter in this year’s Summit which will bring together residents, healthcare officials, healthcare professionals, service providers and more to explore, strategize, and share solutions to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in the District. The Summit’s theme, “Building A Community – Accessing Healthcare, Insurance, and Employee Wellbeing,” presents a great opportunity for attendees and guests to learn, cross-share, garner ideas and see tested outcomes to support our women, who often are heads of households. Expected takeaways include 1) accessing quality care through Mayor Bowser's 1-800-MOM-BABY parental resource line for those expecting and with children under five, 2) increasing Medicaid re-certification and boosting the utilization of expanded healthcare services, as well as 3) promoting Family-Friendly Policies in the workplace. Whole of government and multi-sector approaches are necessary to listen and be responsive to parents’ needs. By bringing together a wide range of voices, perspectives, and experiences, we can continue our progress and reduce inequities for women and children right here in our nation's capital and across the country. For more information about this event and other activities of the Mayor's Office on Women’s Policy and Initiatives, follow @DCMOWPI on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
