DC Health Link will join the AGAPE, the LGBTQ+ Ministry at Union Temple Baptist Church to engage with the Ward 8 community and its families to celebrate National Pride Month. During the celebration, the DC premiere of feature film, TRUTH BE TOLD directed by Emmy Award Winning director, Nneka Onuorah will be presented. TRUTH BE TOLD takes a bold and honest look at the culture behind the walls of the Black church and features interviews with Cedric the Entertainer, Billy Porter, David and Tamela Mann and Kev on Stage! Following the movie screening, a panel discussion about the film will be led by Rev. Dr. Anika Wilson Brown, Lead Pastor at Union Temple Baptist Church along with Rev. Mashaun Simon, filmmaker and Caribbean Queer Activist from Atlanta Georgia and Sekiya Dorsett, GLAAD Award winning filmmaker from Brooklyn, New York who has given voice to issues of equality and the stories of women of color. The event will include feature a “Care Corner” equipped with a licensed clinician and clergy. Snacks and giveaways will be available. DC Health Link will be on site to share information about health insurance plans and opportunities for eligible persons to enroll in coverage.
