DC Health Link business partner, DC Chamber of Commerce, will distribute DCHL information and engage attendees at the Moring Fix with the Office of Planning’s Director, Andrew Trueblood. During our next Morning Fix Event, Director Trueblood will discuss the agency’s initiatives for the year and the new Comprehensive Plan for the District of Columbia. DC Office of Planning is tasked with planning for the long-term growth of the District of Columbia, to help ensure it reflects our values of an inclusive and vibrant city. Under Director Trueblood’s leadership, the agency performs planning for neighborhoods, public facilities, parks, and open spaces, and individual sites. In addition, the office engages in urban design, land use, and historic preservation reviews. The Office of Planning also manages, analyzes, maps, and disseminates spatial and U.S. Census data. The District of Columbia’s Comprehensive Plan is vital to economic development and serves as our 20-year framework that guides future growth and development. Originally adopted in 2006 and amended in 2011, it addresses a wide range of topics that affect how we experience the city. These topics include land use, economic development, affordable housing, historic preservation, transportation and more. Now, the updated Comprehensive Plan is being considered for final approval by the Council of the District of Columbia. With a vote scheduled for September 17th.
