While millions of consumers are gaining access to health care coverage, others remain uninsured and unfamiliar with health insurance and the health care system. DC Health Link’s Communication, External Affairs and Stakeholder Director, Linda Wharton-Boyd, Ph.D., will join other panelists to discuss “Communicating Access to Coverage”. The workshop will focus on strategies to effectively communicate access to health care coverage to beneficiaries. Dr. Wharton-Boyd will share lessons learned as well as key strategies and messages for successful enrollment and outreach in the DC community.

DC Health Link - American College of Physicians Internal Medicine Meeting 2015

DC Health Benefit Exchange Executive Director Mila Kofman will present for the American College of Physician’s 100th year anniversary annual meeting. Ms. Kofman will discuss the District's experience implementing DC Health Link – the District’s online health insurance marketplace, Medicaid expansion, and how the law is meeting the goals of expanding health coverage, creating a fairer health insurance market, and improving public health. Following the presentation there will be a brief question and answer session.

DC Health Link - World Health Care Congress Business Exchange Summit

DC Health Benefit Exchange Executive Director, Mila Kofman, will present at the World Health Care Congress (WHCC) and discuss challenges as it relates to consumer involvement. The 2015 WHCC will focus on critical themes for health care stakeholders post-ACA implementation, such as a successful transition to a value-based system, progress in accountable care, and controlling costs. About 1,100 leaders across health care are expected to convene – from plans, health systems/hospitals, employers, life sciences, policy, and government organizations.
