DC Health Link will launch the 2nd Open Enrollment Period for District residents, small business owners and their employees to enroll in affordable health insurance plans that meet their needs and budgets. Trained experts will be on-site to assist with the enrollment and renewal process, to answer questions and to provide information about the District’s new online marketplace.
DC Health Link will present informational materials, and communicate with small business owners about the new online market place, DC Health Link, and health insurance options. A representative will be available to assist with questions . This event is open to the business community. mission is to ensure the provision of accessible, effective, high quality community-based counseling and social services as an alternative to traditional institutional care.
DC Health Link Senior Deputy Director for Policy and Programs will communicate via videoconference information about the ACA, DC Health Link, the new online market place and new Medicaid options under the ACA. This opportunity will provide resource information to incarcerated individuals who are within 90 days of release and return to the community.
DC Health Link collaborating with DCRA will exhibit materials designed to inform business owners about DC’s new online health insurance market place and health insurance options available for small business owners who want to grow their business. Information will be disseminated, entrepreneurship will be inspired, and an atmosphere will be created to foster positive action and to receive feedback for business owners and those interested in opening a catering, restaurant, delicatessen, and or vending business. Continental breakfast and networking will begin at 8:30 am.
DC Health Link continues to provide opportunities for DC residents to get the facts about the ACA, DC Health Link - DC’s online health insurance marketplace. While finding out about jobs, DC Health Link representatives will be on hand to speak with consumers about DC’s health exchange, so they can find out about health insurance for themselves and their families, and become savvy shoppers on DC’s health insurance marketplace by learning how to shop and compare health plans so that they are ready for the 2nd Open Enrollment Period occurring November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015.&

The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law is hosting an interactive lecture, panel discussion and case study on US Health Reform highlighting the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Debra Curtis, DC Health Benefit Exchange’s Senior Deputy Program Director, will participate and discuss some of the operational issues faced during this first open-enrollment season, and what is anticipated for upcoming enrollment seasons. DC Health Benefit Exchange Board member, Kevin Lucia, will moderate, and DCHBX Board Member, Leighton Ku will also be present.
