The DC Chamber will present information and exhibit materials for business owners about the new online market place, DC Health Link, and health insurance options available for small business owners. Certified insurance brokers will be available to assist with enrollment. This event is open to the business community.

East River Family Strengthening Collaborative and Edgewood Brooklyn Family Strengthening Collaborative/North Capital Collaborative, Inc. will participate in the Douglas Memorial UMC Health Fair. DC Health Link Assisters and licensed health insurance brokers will be on-site to provide information about the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the new online market place, DC Health Link, and the new Medicaid and eligibility options. With the deadline to enroll in health insurance fast approaching, DC Health Link and its assister organization, Assist DC, will roll out a full court press for DC residents to get covered during March Madness. While filling out their winning brackets, consumers are encouraged to fill out their applications for affordable health insurance plans.
The local faith based community has been an integral part of DC Health Link outreach efforts to educate and enroll District residents, small businesses and their employees in quality, affordable health insurance plans. The active engagement of the faith community has inspired hundreds of consumers to heed the call for health insurance, and enroll in plans that best meet their needs and budgets. As the March 31 open enrollment deadline rapidly approaches, the faith community strongly continues its creative efforts to reach out and enroll consumers.

The deadline to have health insurance is fast approaching. Don’t wait—get enrolled today. Everyone must have health insurance by March 31 to avoid paying a penalty. Come to Brown Memorial where DCHL Assisters will provide information about eligibility for premium credits and federal subsidies and will enroll DC residents in a health plan that covers doctor visits, hospitalizations, maternity care, emergency room visits, prescriptions and more. DC Health Link Assisters will provide health insurance enrollment services at Eastern Senior High School to Unite Here union members by appointment. Uninsured Washington, DC, union members will be referred to DC Health Link Assisters for all of their health insurance and enrollment needs.
DC Health Link Assisters along with a certified insurance broker on-call will set up onsite at the Nationals ballpark to provide Unite Here union members on-site enrollment during their job on boarding. DC Health Link Assisters will provide a 10 minute presentation to two cohorts and allow on-site enrollment as well as make appointments for consumers wishing to enroll in our office to approximately 200 people. None of the members present are eligible for employer based health insurance and will be given a presentation by trained experts.
