DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority Executive Director, Mila Kofman will participant in The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Reporters’ Roundtable with several marketplace/exchange officials. Members of the health care news media will be on hand for a roundtable discussion on the most effective state-based exchanges; the enrollment totals as of late January; evolving marketplace plans for the next open enrollment period in the fall of 2014; and other related topics.
DCHL Assisters will operate a mini enrollment center at this Happy Hour. With information at every table and a booth to provide enrollment assistance and to make appointments, the Assisters will walk to tables and talk to young patrons about the important of having health insurance. They will not only answer questions about the ACA and DC Health link, but they will also ask questions (Do you have health coverage? Are you comfortable with it? How do you feel about the Affordable Care Act.)
Assist DC and Young Invincibles In-Person assisters will be at the benefits fair to provide information to contractors who do not receive benefits. USAID has put together a benefit fair for their contractors, including health insurance, and has asked us to come and represent DC HealthLink. The IPA's will be available to answer any questions they may have about their health care coverage options. Enrollment assistance will be provided. Additionally, special appointments with certified assisters and licensed insurance brokers will also be scheduled as necessary.
