The briefing is designed to be a ground level conversation informing community partners of Howard University Hospital about the affordable health insurance options available to consumers under the Affordable Care Act through DC Health Link, the District’s new online health insurance marketplace, new Medicaid changes and eligibility options. Attendees will be trained and ultimately certified as CACs; a similar role to IPAs. These new assisters will help with enrollment in their respective neighborhoods and church homes. 

DC Health Link staff will present information about the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the new health insurance marketplace, DC Health Link, and new Medicaid options. Certified DC Health Link Assisters and Insurance brokers will be on-site to provide enrollment assistance, answer questions and provide information.

As a major component of the DC Health Link faith based initiative which is designed to actively engage faith leaders in the campaign to reach and enroll District residents and small businesses in affordable health insurance plan, the Good Success Christian Church and Ministries opened a DC Health Link Enrollment Center three days per week. In-Person Assisters will be available during operating hours to provide information, answer questions, and enroll residents in affordable public and private health insurance plans.
