The Open Enrollment period is an opportunity to provide Senate staff with information about DC Health Link, the District’s new online health insurance marketplace. DC Health Link staff will answer questions, showcase products and offer enrollment assistance.
The Division of Medicine and Dentistry has scheduled a webinar on how their grantees can incorporate the Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation and Health Insurance Marketplace enrollment in their medical education training programs and patient outreach activities. A 15-minute presentation will be provided.
At this Robert Woods Johnson sponsored conference, HBX executive director, Mila Kofman, and state exchange directors from Oregon and Minnesota will participate on the panel, “The Roles of Health Insurance Exchanges in Fostering Transparency on Health Plan Costs and Quality.” The conference will focus on the trend toward greater transparency and its great potential to help make the health care market more efficient; improve the value that Americans receive from care; and make the entire health care system more financially sustainable over the long run.

The American Bar Association’s Washington Healthcare Summit will present a panel discussion entitled “So, How Are Those Health Insurance Exchanges Working for You” where HBX Senior Deputy Counsel, Purvee Kempf, will participate as a panelist.
DC Health Link staff will present information and exhibit materials for business owners about the new online market place, DC Health Link, and health insurance options available for small business owners. This event is open to the business community.
To connect with the hard to reach LGBT community, WW In-Person Assisters will be going to one of the most popular gay bars in the city to share information about the ACA, DC Health Link and Medicaid options under the new health law. WWH Assisters will also provide on-site enrollment assistance.
