This captivating event, the largest of its kind in the United States, is a cultural and culinary immersion into Peru's rich heritage, music, dance, arts, crafts, and cuisine. The event boasts foods from an array of top Peruvian restaurants and live cooking demonstrations. DC Health Link trained assisters will be onsite to provide enrollment assistance in both English and Spanish and DC Health Link outreach teams will distribute information to hundreds of residents attending this event.

Open Streets is a global initiative that offers communities the opportunity to experience their streets in a whole new way. Open Streets events temporarily close roadways to vehicles to provide safe spaces for walking, biking, skating, and other social activities. Open Streets events help users reimagine public space to prioritize people over cars, provide easy access to recreation and other health-oriented programming, and promote economic development by supporting local businesses.

Department of Human Resources (DCHR) will host Mayor Muriel Bowser’s, “Spring into a New Career” Hiring Event offering District residents, veterans, and jobseekers in the area the opportunity to connect with District agencies and community-based organizations. The Ward 8 Health Council is partnering with Howard University's Center of Excellence to host the Ward 8 Maternal Summit.
