The 2018 Small Business & Economic Development Summit is the Chamber’s annual event recognizing business accomplishments and connecting corporate and government buyers with Washington and area businesses. Join the Chamber in the celebration of small businesses throughout the District of Columbia in conjunction with national small Business Week as we recognize the 2018 Small Business of the Year Awards to six local businesses during the Awards Luncheon Awards nomination due March 19th.
In celebration of National Small Business Week, DC Health Link, its business partners the DC Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and participating partners of the DC Health Link Small Business Braintrust, will host the 3rd annual small business forum, “POWER UP DC 2018.” The forum is designed to provide small business owners with insights into what is needed for success and also insights into contracting with the federal government.
The purpose of the Bi-Annual Review is for business partner CEO’s from Greater Washington Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and DC Chamber of Commerce to present an overview report of their grant activities year-to-date, outline program progress against their goals, shared lessons learned and any challenges /obstacles they are facing, and offer recommendations for program enhancement. It’s also provide an opportunity for DC Health Board members and senior leadership team to ask questions of the business partners and share our outlook for the next grant cycle.
The Morning Fix will feature City Administrator Rashad Young. Mr. Young is responsible for the day-to-day management of the District government, setting operational goals and implementing the legislative actions and overall policy decisions of the Mayor and DC Council. As City Administrator, he reports directly to the Mayor and has direct oversight over all executive-reporting agencies. He is also responsible for preparing the District’s annual operating budget and under his purview are several special projects.

DC Health Link will participate in the 2018 NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo -- the largest health and wellness event in the Washington, D.C. area -- that offers the latest information on fitness and health from hundreds of exhibitors, speakers, health screenings and demonstrations. DC Health Link will exhibit at the Expo at booth 5078. Visitors to the DC Health Link booth will receive information on insurance options, financial assistance, Medicaid and enrollment support.
