DC Health Link Extends 2016 Enrollment Deadline to Meet Increased Demand

Monday, February 1, 2016

District residents will have an additional two days to sign up and avoid the IRS penalty due to historic snow storm

DC Health Link is seeing high call volume and high web traffic.  People who are uninsured may owe the IRS a tax penalty of several thousand dollars.  It is not too late to avoid the tax penalty and to sign up for affordable health insurance through DC Health Link.  Due to the historic snow storm that hit the DC region last week, DC residents will have an additional two days to sign up for health insurance coverage through DC Health Link.  The new deadline to sign up is 11:59pm on Tuesday, February 2.  Individuals who sign up by that deadline will have coverage that begins March 1, 2016.

DC Health Link customer service representatives will be available at (855) 532-5465 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 1st and Tuesday, February 2nd to work with individuals so that their health insurance coverage is in place for March 1st coverage. FREE in-person assistance will also be available to help residents with the enrollment process at the following locations:
