DC Health Link will launch its new resource and informational mobile app for Iphone and Android devices this week in a public demonstration. DC Health Link’s new app is designed to be an educational guide for last minute shoppers looking to purchase health insurance before the March 31st deadline.

The mobile app aims to deliver streamlined access to information and resource tools currently only offered through DCHealthLink.com, such as a mobile cost calculator, a GPS mapping feature to connect residents to help, FAQs, and a mobile events calendar to link consumers to nearby enrollment centers.

Reporters are invited to a mobile app Q & A Teleconference and to the Mobile App Launch Party.

Background:
The new health law provides individuals, families, and small businesses in the District of Columbia with new options for quality, affordable health insurance.  DC Health Link is the District’s online health insurance marketplace that allows visitors to shop, compare, and buy coverage that fits their needs and budgets.

Eligible residents have until March 31, 2014, to enroll in a health insurance plan through DCHealthLink.com. Those who enroll before March 15, 2014, will have benefits effective April 1, 2014. Small businesses can enroll through DCHealthLink.com at any point.
