DC Health Link Says: As You Spring Clean, Start With a Clean Bill of Health and Get Affordable Health Insurance

Thursday, March 20, 2014
Outreach teams will canvass laundromats to enroll residents as March 31st deadline approaches.

What/Who:

With eleven (11) days left to enroll, DC Health Link (DCHL) outreach teams are canvassing local Laundromats to enroll DC residents in health insurance plans before the March 31st deadline.  While residents wash clothes and wait for them to dry, DCHL certified assisters and licensed health insurance brokers will set up shop to provide information about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and DC Health Link, the District’s new online marketplace for health insurance.

Consumers will receive information about health insurance coverage that meets their needs and budgets. Their questions will be answered and enrollment assistance will be provided.  When applying, consumers will learn if they are eligible for Medicaid or financial assistance with private health insurance premiums as well as for reduced out-of-pocket health expenses.
