Monday, December 23, 2014 not only symbolizes the day before Christmas Eve, but it is also the last day DC residents can enroll in a health plan with benefits effective January 1, 2014. The deadline is now only three days away. In the final stretch to help residents to get enrolled in health coverage that begins the first day of the New Year, DC Health Link is pulling out all the stops.
The DC Health Link Call Center Hours will have extended to Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 8 am – 12 midnight. Customer Services Representative will do all they can to get person enrolled and worked through the system. Call Center staff will be available for several additional hours next week, but will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day
Additionally, DC Health Link Assisters are performing “touchbacks” -- following up with consumers with whom they have already developed relationships to make sure they have completed the enrollment process. They are speaking with customers who have started the application process, but have not fully enrolled in a DC Health Link health insurance plan. “Touchbacks” consist of follow-up phones calls, e-mails or in-person visits to encourage consumers to complete or enroll in a quality, affordable DCHealthLink.com health plan.

Background:
The new health law provides individuals, families, and small businesses in the District of Columbia with new options for quality, affordable health insurance. DC Health Link is the District’s online health insurance marketplace that allows visitors to shop, compare, and buy coverage that fits their needs and budgets.
Eligible residents have until March 31, 2014, to enroll in a health insurance plan through DCHealthLink.com. Those who enroll by December 23, 2013, will have benefits effective January 1, 2014. Small businesses can enroll through DCHealthLink.com at any point.
