The DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority announced today that Isabella Leung has joined its professional staff as a Senior Policy Advisor, where she will focus on operational and policy issues related to Exchange implementation.
“Isabella’s knowledge of the ACA and experience implementing federal regulations further enhances our internal expertise,” said Mila Kofman, J.D., executive director of the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority.
Most recently, Ms. Leung served as press officer and spokesperson on the Medicare Advantage and prescription drug benefit programs for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). During her time at CMS, Ms. Leung was also part of the Affordable Care Act legislative team and helped to develop regulations implementing the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive programs. Her prior experiences also include working on legislative solutions related to Medicare physician payment, physician self-referral, drugs and durable medical equipment at the Committee on Ways and Means in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Ms. Leung holds a Bachelor of Arts from New York University and a Master’s degree from the Georgetown Public Policy Institute. She is a resident of the District.
