Keeping the Faith: Sikh Temple Joins Roster of Faith Based Organizations Enrolling Members in Health Insurance Plans This Sunday

Friday, January 24, 2014
Sikh Temple leader and other faith leaders to speak about new health law and urge enrollment before March 2014 deadline.

What/Who:
DC Health Link (DCHL) continues to ramp-up its faith-based outreach efforts at places of worship through its partnership with the Mayor's Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs. This Sunday, officials will speak at the Sikh National Gurdwara, DC to educate members about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and DC Health Link, the District’s new health insurance marketplace. DC Health Link Assisters and licensed health insurance brokers will also be onsite after the Mass to provide additional information, answer questions and help enroll members in health insurance plans that meet their needs and budgets.

Similar education and enrollment activities will take place at other places of worship throughout the city this Sunday and every Sunday until the March 31, 2014 deadline. Parishioners will be encouraged to beat the rush, avoid the tax penalty and enroll in health plans before the deadline.
