On behalf of the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority I offer our condolences to the family and friends of DC Mayor and Ward 8 Councilmember Marion Barry.  As a former civil rights leader and champion for the residents of the District of Columbia, his passing is a loss to all of us.

His legislative support for the work of the Health Benefit Exchange Authority was indicative of his commitment to improving access to quality health care for the people of this city. He understood that healthy residents build healthy communities.

We pay tribute to his life's work and legacy.
