Statement from Mayor Bowser on DC Health Link’s Extension of Open Enrollment to February 5

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Mayor Muriel Bowser today released the following statement on the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority’s decision to extend open enrollment through Monday, February 5, 2018, at 11:59 pm:

“DC Health Link remains open for business, and that means that any District resident who is uninsured has five extra days to get covered. Unlike the Federal Government, which shortened the open enrollment period and slashed outreach and support, the District is committed to giving our residents the time and support they need to get covered and stay covered. Because of our long-time commitment to expanding coverage, Washington, DC has one of the lowest uninsured rates in the country, but we want to do even better. Over the next few days, we need everyone to reach out to family members, neighbors, friends, and colleagues to encourage anyone who is still uninsured to get covered. From now until Monday at 11:59 pm, individuals and families can visit DCHealthLink.com or call 855-532-LINK to get connected to a plan that meets their needs and budget.”
