The following statement was issued by Mila Kofman, J.D., the executive director of the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority, regarding the release of proposed regulations by the Office of Personnel Management.

 

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the health insurance needs of Members of Congress and their staff. The proposed regulations make clear that the federal government will continue to pay its share of the cost of coverage for these individuals and their families. From day one, we have been building an insurance marketplace that can serve the residents and small businesses of the District of Columbia including Congress, the Executive Branch, and the First Family. We have informed OPM that we are ready to work with them to ensure success. Everyone who comes to DC Health Link will have a broad array of choices, prices, and benefits and the assistance of trained experts to answer all questions and help them shop, compare, and select the coverage that best meets their needs and budgets. I look forward to talking with Members and staff to make this a seamless transition.”
