As the 2020 Open Enrollment Period comes to a close, DC Health Link will host a “24-Hr. Enrollment Marathon” from noon Saturday, January 25, 2020 thru noon Sunday January 26, 2020 at Ben’s Chili Bowl, 1213 U Street, NW. The Marathon will provide an additional opportunity for residents to enroll in health insurance. New to this year’s annual event will be the “DC Health Link Radio Shout-Outs” with local radio stations broadcasting live from the popular DC restaurant. On-air radio talents will be present to encourage listeners to stop by Ben’s Chili Bowl to enroll in quality, affordable health insurance before the January 31 deadline. They will also ask listeners to help spread the word to encourage uninsured family members, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to enroll in health insurance before the deadline.

DC Health Link Assisters will be on-site during the entire 24 hours to provide free enrollment support. In addition to assisters and radio personalities, government officials and community leaders will also participate in the radio shout-outs to encourage residents to enroll in health insurance and be reminded that unlike the federal government, DC requires all residents to have health insurance, get an exemption or pay a tax penalty. The participating radio stations include: URBAN ONE (former RADIO One): WYCB, WOL and MAJIC; Radio.com: El Zol 107.9FM and WPGC and Autentica: WCTN – AM 950. The city’s cable station, District Cable Network (DCN) will also be on site to help promote the enrollment deadline.
