The Corner at Whitman-Walker, An Oral History Exhibition

Last Date:

Location:
Details:

DC Health Link community partner, Whitman Walker, is hosting the inaugural exhibit See You There: Making History at Whitman-Walker – timed to coincide with World AIDS Day. Inspired by Whitman-Walker's ongoing Oral History Project, the exhibit looks back at the early history of the clinic—one of the first institutions in the country focused on LGBTQ and HIV care. The exhibition includes documents, and fresh stories and artworks, some of them newly commissioned. It casts back a queer look at some of the facts and some of the lore of Whitman-Walker. The exhibition kicks off with two pre-opening events: A weekend World AIDS Day special in partnership with WPFW 89.3 with music broadcasting live from The Corner on Saturday, November 28th and Day With(out) Art 2020: TRANSMISSIONS, a video program by Visual AIDS, will be screened in-person on Monday, November 30 at 6 pm. Admission is limited to 10 people. For more information about the Exhibition, please contact Erin Keefe at [email protected].
