Detail: DC Health Link is partnering with the Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (MOAIPA) and the community art space advocacy group, Break the Silence, in a panel presentation to explore ways residents can express themselves creatively to address feelings, concerns and anxieties around the rise in AAPI hate crimes in this country. This event will commemorate the one-year anniversary of the senseless killings of 8 people, 6 of whom were Asian women. The panel of experts will provide resources for community healing as well as encourage open dialogue between women and girls of AAPI descent in the District of Columbia and the agencies that serve them. Among the panelist are:

Jennifer Porter, Director of Mayor’s Office on Women’s Policy, and Initiatives
Michelle Garcia, Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants
Hnin Khaing, Director, Office of Human Rights
Rita Lee, Director, Wah Luck House Adult Day Care Center
Motoko Aizawa, Chair, Commission on Human Rights
