Children and families experiencing homelessness have disproportionately high rates of health problems, and less access to adequate health services. This family health fair, sponsored by American Association of Medical Colleges,  is for residents of DC General, the city's largest emergency family shelter, the Harriet Tubman Women's Shelter, and New York Avenue shelter motels. The goal of this event is to connect residents with community health care providers and social service networks, giving participants the tools and access necessary to support themselves and their families.
