DC Health Link at Mayor Muriel Bowser 2018 Open Enrollment Press Conference

Mayor Muriel Bowser will ring the bell to kick off open enrollment—encouraging DC residents to sign-up for health insurance at DCHealthLink.com, the District’s state-based health insurance exchange established under the Affordable Care Act.  She will be joined at the press conference by Mila Kofman, Executive Director of the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority. Residents enrolled in DC Health Link will speak. After the press conference, Mayor Bowser will tour the onsite enrollment center witnessing live enrollment in action.

DC Health Link will meet moviegoers on opening weekend of the long awaited Star Wars “The Last Jedi” film which promises to be very popular with young adults who need to be reminded to get themselves and their friends covered in affordable health insurance coverage through DC Health Link. Enrollment staff will be stationed at tables near the concessions stands. Advertisements will be played on screens at the concession stands as well as on all 17 movie screens throughout the theater.

The event will feature meals for thousands of people in need, live musical entertainment, free health screenings, community service exhibitors, and fun door prizes. DC Councilmember Trayon White and Union Temple Church will host the annual Ward 8 turkey give-away event where more than hundreds of DC residents attend this tradition and receive Thanksgiving meals each year.
