Catching consumers at retail outlets has proven to be ideal for reaching the uninsured with information about the Affordable Care Act and sharing information about the importance of signing up for health coverage before the March 31 deadline. DC Health Link assister organization, East River Family Strengthening Collaborative (ERFSC), has established a partnership with the Giant Supermarket to provide an onsite enrollment/informational center with certified DC Health Link Assisters to assist consumers in their need for health insurance and understanding the health plan options.
Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities is collaborating with community partners to host a pediatric health forum on obesity and asthma. DC Health Link, the District’s new health insurance marketplace, will have certified assisters on-site to answer questions and provide enrollment opportunities that meet the budgets and needs of DC residents, small businesses and their employees.
