DC Health Link faith based initiative is designed to actively engage faith leaders in the campaign to educate and enroll District residents, small businesses and employees in affordable health insurance coverage. As a major component of the faith based initiative, DuPont Park Seven Day Adventist Church has entered into partnership with DC Health Link to open an enrollment site and to support March as DC Health Link Faith based month. On Saturday, March 1, a DCHL staff person will speak to church members about the ACA and the importance of being covered with health insurance.

DC Health Link along with its partner agency, the Mayor's Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs will extend its faith based outreach to members of the Chinese Community Church to promote the importance of the Affordable Care Act and DC Health Link.  Assisters and insurance brokers will be on-site after the mass to answer questions and help enroll members in affordable health plans through DC Health Link.  Rev. Koo is the pastor of the Chinese Community Church.

Catching consumers at retail outlets has proven to be ideal for reaching the uninsured with information about the Affordable Care Act and sharing information about the importance of signing up for health coverage before the March 31st deadline. DC Health Link assister organization, East River Family Strengthening Collaborative (ERFSC), has established a partnership with the new Wal-Mart at 99 H Street, NW and will be on-site to weekly educate and enroll consumers.
