Martin Luther King Peace Walk and Health Fair

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Peace Walk is held annually on the federal MLK holiday and is coordinated by the Coalition for Peace, a group of individuals and non-profits dedicated to peace and positivity for the Washington DC metropolitan communities. The walk leads to the annual community health fair where DC Health Link assisters will be onsite to meet with and inform residents of the importance of enrolling in quality, affordable health insurance. Assisters will also answer questions about DC Health Link.

Virtual One Touch Enrollment Event

DC Health Link, in partnership with the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF), Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School and the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC) has established the Virtual One Touch Enrollment Center to offer a one-stop shop for eligible health consumers to receive enrollment services including: expert help from licensed brokers and certified assisters, identity proofing, insurance program determination, premium reduction, verification, and legal assistance.

24 Hour Enrollment Marathon: Drag Yourself to Get Covered

DC Health Link in partnership with the Mayor's Office on LGBTQ+ Affairs, Carlos Rosario, and the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will kick-off this year's 24-hour Enrollment Marathon with “Drag Yourself to Get Covered: A Virtual One-Touch Enrollment Event”! The online viewers will enjoy favorite drag performers headlined by the incomparable CAKE while being informed about health insurance and getting covered.

Baptist Ministers’ Conference of DC and Vicinity

As the African American Enrollment Week of Action draws to a close, DC Health Link, in partnership with the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of DC and Vicinity will partner to ensure more faith leaders provide information to their local parishioners about the importance of getting insured more than ever through DC Health Link, the District’s health insurance online marketplace.

Continuing the celebration of African American Enrollment Week of Action, DC Health Link in partnership with local barber shops will be distributing DC Health Link Open enrollment information rack cards along with personal protective equipment to encourage the uninsured to get insured and to tell others. DC Health Link certified assisters will be onsite distributing free masks, hand sanitizers and sharing information about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how it has made applying for quality health care insurance more affordable.
