DC Health Link will partner with the Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) for their Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway and Health Insurance Promotion event where LAYC will distribute hundreds of holiday meals to Latino families in need. Union Temple Church will host an Emergency Conference Meeting Town Hall regarding “Crisis in Black Washington. ”There will be workshops and forums that will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. before the mass town hall meeting starts at 4 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 8 p.m. The purpose of the meeting and conference is to address issues facing the city’s Black community such as gentrification, overdevelopment, the crisis among Black elected officials, crime and violence, wayward Black youth, and the absence of African American men.
